How to Embroider a Pillowcase Valentine →
This post looked interesting to me, since I tried my hand at embroidery a few years back, until I saw “Use the built-in lettering in your embroidery machine.” What?! My only embroidery machine is built into the bottom of my arms.

9 Lives of a Peanut Butter Jar →
It started with big yogurt containers, and now it’s snowballing. Today I washed out an empty peanut butter jar for the first time, with plans to reuse it. When I found out last year that all of my old tupperware caused cancer, I was worried about the expense to replace it. Now I’m realizing that I just have to be a crazy old packrat!

Tired of the Web 2.0 Design? This Firefox Add-on... →
(via catbird: tedroden) Nowadays the web is designed by professionals, and everybody has a broadband connection. Ebay was overtaken by so called “Power-Sellers” and the shiny and smooth Web 2.0 Blogger-Design rules the web. In the 90’s People started creating webpages about their hobbies and dogs on geocities or other free webspace providers. As many people didn’t have...

Dear Barack Obama, One thing you could fix is the economy. Something happened to me. I went out to lunch at Starbucks, and I wanted to buy a cup of whipped cream. And normally it’s 43 cents, but now it’s 74 cents! The price raised 31 cents for no reason! So you should probably try to change things like that from happening. You should keep an eye out for things like that. I wish you...

The Frigid Fingers Were Live, but the Music Wasn’t... →
“No one’s trying to fool anybody. This isn’t a matter of Milli Vanilli” I wondered about this as they performed wearing just suits and were surrounded by audience members in artic ski gear. Despite his 45 year career, we finally know the truth about Itzak Perlman’s inability to play violin and his reliance on auto-tune. Thanks, Obama. (link via the lovely greg)
