Yelp reviews of the bar we are heading to soon...
“It’s a total shit show and the crowd is disgusting/distasteful and just looking to get drunk and sloppy.”
“…it was well worth the five seconds we were there and getting mashed up in between finance guys and girls who want finance guys.”
“ Yes there was free alcohol since about 20 different people seemed to have “won” a free happy hour...

The Internet? Bah! (Newsweek, 2/27/95) →
jingc:
This Newsweek article from 1995 ended up in my inbox, to my amusement:
We’re promised instant catalog shopping—just point and click for great deals. We’ll order airline tickets over the network, make restaurant reservations and negotiate sales contracts. Stores will become obselete [sic]. So how come my local mall does more business in an afternoon than the entire Internet handles in a...

– Mr. Squeaky (MyBiggestComplaint.com)
Because marriage isn’t that big of a deal, and it’s the name change that is the biggest pain in the ass. Thanks, internet.

The $4,722 wedding: One Brooklyn bride proves it... →
Her dress for $27 is a ridiculous steal that I can’t recreate. I wanted a 50s vintage dress, and learned very quickly from eBay searching that women in the 50s were TINY! When the occasional L-XL dress (which means a 32-34 inch waist) comes up, all of the normal sized gals jump all over it and the price ends above $400.
My solution was to get a $20 vintage pattern, and send it to my mom,...

Your $18,000 wedding? It may really end up costing you between $90,000 and...
– What a Wedding Really Costs (WSJ)
Articles like these really rub me the wrong way because, I’m sorry, an $18,000 wedding with a $2,000 dress is still way too much to spend on one day. An article in New York Magazine talked about a “budget NYC wedding”, but the budget was $25,000.

This book is a must-read for anyone who is thinking...

Our Save the Date video, by the lovely Tristan and Zac, who sweetly took us to Coney Island last Tuesday at 5:40am to shoot.
What you don’t see is that this was our SECOND TAKE, after a camera malfunction the first time. Luckily, I had enough dry clothes for another go-round (this is why CR is sporting my corduroys). All in all, a fun and exciting morning. ♥!

CR: I looked through it. I think that it's ActuallyNPH's assistant. :(
Me: oh no! What makes you think so? I'm sad that I wasn't keen to that, if it's true.
CR: It's just not cool enough
