Laywer's Take on DELETE YR PINTEREST →
infinitezest: Thanks for the legal hat tip!  With the caveat that I’m not an IP lawyer, and specific facts will change the analysis, my take is that it is very very very unlikely that anyone using Pinterest in a casual (read: non-commercial) manner would face any sort of legal obstacle.  I took a look at the Pinterest Terms of Service, and it has a process through which copyright owners can...

Miriam's Funeral →
likethereligion: The funeral today was surprisingly helpful for me to find some sort of meaning in her death. I believe that: 1) The world is not fair - some people face more challenges than others 2) Everyone dies, eventually 3) Miriam’s life is an extreme example of the preceding points. Miriam fought cancer for 13 years, and died at 28. She had to deal with an incredible amount of pain,...

Glamour magazine quiz vs. cute boys
Mahnaz: They quizzed men with the question: "Do you think Suri is growing up to fast?"
Adam: Who is Suri?
CR: What does that even mean? How can she grow up at all? She's the one who tells you what to do on your iPhone.
Mahnaz: 65% said "Who the hell is Suri?"

adrianneyo asked: Hi Adrienne! I initially started following you because we have the same name, Adrianne S (same but not)! Knowing now that you live in NYC, I was curious to know if you had any recommendations for college-student- affordable home stays or hostels on Manhattan or in the BRKLN/WLMSBRG area that are conveniently located (subway)? Also! If you know of must-eateries that are both carnivore (boyfriend)...

Ira Glass on marriage (from this week's...
Kurt Braunohler: I do have a theory now that if I do get married in the future, what I think I would want to do is have an agreement that, at the end of seven years, we have to get remarried in order for the marriage to continue. But at the end of seven years, it ends. And we can agree to get remarried or not get remarried.
Ira Glass: Why?
KB: Because then I think you get to choose. And I think it would make the relationship stronger.
IG: ...I think actually one of the things that’s a comfort in marriage is that there isn’t a door at seven years, and so if something is messed up, in the short term, there’s a comfort of knowing, ‘well we made this commitment, so we’re just going to work this out. And even if tonight we’re not getting along, or there’s something between us that doesn’t feel right, you have the comfort of knowing, we’ve got time, we’re going to figure this out’. And that makes it so much easier. Because you do go through times where you hate eachother’s guts, and the no escape clause, weirdly, is a bigger comfort to being married than I ever would have thought before I got married.
