Waiting outside of the Hilton yesterday to meet CR and his dad, I admired some beautiful fountain pens in a shop window. I asked CR what he thought they would cost, and he guessed several hundred dollars.
I just looked up the brand, David Oscarson: Five.Thousand.Dollars.
For a pen! I imagine that you can only own one of these if you always keep it on the velvet pillow in your large wooden desk drawer in a huge wooden library of a mansion.
Window shopping in NYC is still shocking to me.
