Pinterest Is Tumblr for Ladiez (Gizmodo)

Pinterest has been coming up in conversation a lot lately, and I have found that it is a hard sell to males who don’t have interest in design (CR, for example, who receives my sales pitches daily).

I’ve been on the fence about it satisfying my personal needs since I signed up last summer, but am finding that it really does offer an excellent interface to discover things, and will probably continue to explode in popularity as a result. My biggest complaint is that the posts so far are largely about buying stuff, which is something that I generally try to avoid being tempted to do. Other than buying stuff posts, there are a lot of the random inspirational messages and images that have overrun Tumblr and Facebook that I don’t particularly need more of in my life.

So—so far, I like it for recipe collecting, and that’s about it. What do you think?
