American Express is the best ever
To compartmentalize my spending for my recently enacted conscious spending plan, I’ve started using my old Amex clear card that’s been in a drawer for all of my “guilt free spending” purchases. Unfortunately, I forgot to add a reminder to my calendar to pay this new bill, so this afternoon I realized that I had completely forgotten to pay this credit card bill that was due a few weeks ago. My new statement showed an interest charge, so after putting in the payment, I phoned and asked that any late fees and interest charges be removed. They immediately said YES, and also confirmed that none of this would be tattled to credit agencies. Phew!
I had a similar situation with Chase about a year ago, and they wouldn’t waive the fees at all. Very frustrating since I was only a day or two late on that payment, and I’ve been a cardholder with them for a few years longer.
Thanks for always being the best, Amex.
