I was just looking through it and found this gem from two summers ago when we stopped by my brother’s office.

McDonald’s new insanely effective viral ad is actually illegal...

McDonald’s new insanely effective viral ad is actually illegal to remove (The Next Web)

The act of seed bombing is relatively common and well-known, but the idea of integrating it into an advertising campaign is pretty genius. But here’s the best part: since the flowers used are California Poppies (the state flower), they are illegal to dig up, making it impossible for land owners to remove the “ad” unless they want to hide it by planting more flowers.

Turns out, just $12 for three knives! We last heard the bell in our old place on the upper west side, so I’m happy that he’s now added Brooklyn to his territory! He must have read this article in the NYT last week about Prospect Heights being a good alternative to the upper west side.

The reports are all at feltron.com, and he even created a site, datyum.com, where one can collect and graph their own data.

“All the easy, dismissive criticisms about Foursquare check-ins and Twitter should be popping into your mind right now. They all boil down to this: Why do I care what you had for breakfast this morning? …But a funny thing happens when you take what you had for breakfast this morning and multiply it by a hundred of its quotidian equivalents and multiply that times 365.”

I love Tumblr for this reason—after almost 4 years, I have a huge catalog of small bits of my life that’s interesting to go back through.

Proud of myself for coming home and making lentil soup despite...

Proud of myself for coming home and making lentil soup despite wanting to just eat cereal for dinner and watch Hulu. My intention was to make H.Swan’s coconut red lentil soup, but we didn’t have scallions, tomato paste, coconut milk, or cilantro, so it’s basically just the lentil/split pea soup with curry that I always make.

Disregard those Christmas stockings in the background. I just got a head start on decorating for next year.

I like the cheetahs.

I like the cheetahs.

Megan West(erby): Social media slang

Megan West(erby): Social media slang:
digitalslurp:

The growing popularity of Pinterest got me thinking today. So I made up a bit of social media slang for you to insert into your everyday lives. Enjoy.

Pinterested (adj): I’m kinda pinteresed in that.
