The space program provided photos of our planet as a lonely round sphere, sitting improbably in a dense black field. Those images are now widely credited with fomenting the modern environmental movement and garnering funding for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). “With all the arguments, pro and con, for going to the moon, no one suggested we should do it to look at the Earth. An interesting note from Fringe-ology chapter 6, “To Infinity and Beyond” which discusses the sudden and striking impact that space travel has had on the lives of many astronauts

I found this book through Radiolab, since the author is the guy with the insane lucid dream story that I’ve been talking about for weeks. The book is about ghosts, aliens, and other paranormal things that keep me up at night.

This week’s Radiolab Short about lucid dreaming was straight out of Inception and scared the crap out of me during my commute this morning. In short, the guy was able to take control of a nightmare he had for 20 years and beat it. I want everyone I know to listen to it so we can talk about it.
I also just ordered the guy’s book from the library, and am very excited to check it out.
