Excerpts of Christmas in Stockholm.

We are headed to Sweden tomorrow for a month, so my family was sweet enough to reschedule Christmas to today so we could celebrate together before we skip town.

This is great, and feels similar to the start of the great recent stunt from WestJet where they linked a live Santa in to ask people what they wanted for Christmas. No one expects it to actually be a real person controlling it that can give a customized reaction, so it’s a very pleasant surprise.

So much Christmas cheer last night. Including a Christmas Tentacle.

We were tasked with bringing homemade ornaments to a Christmas tree decorating party tonight, so we whipped up some magic with an old set of Scrabble tiles, some red yarn, and a hot glue gun.

Happy Holidays!
I’m a big wimp, but am sometimes willing to suffer for the sake of art (case in point).
For this year’s holiday card, I ignored with my crippling bird phobia and allowed a chicken to be placed on my arm for a couple of minutes. It was only possible because I didn’t look at the chicken on my arm even once, and just avoided facing it at all.
My favorite behind-the-scenes photo (thanks, Jason, for placing the chicken, and thanks, Andrew, for taking the photos) :

3:30am. Finally almost at our upstate destination after a snowy drive. Also, our new dashboard mount to hold the phone for GPS doubles as a tripod!
