Fun night tonight that included a little Greg Thomas, sliders, and many good friends.

By 2am, we were left with all sleepy Tumblr-loving folks: cinnamonpeeler (all the way from Sydney!), consolejunkie, likethereligion, and newcomer sahoward! (not pictured, on her way home, infinitezest)

Touche! I’m not familiar with Daft Punk at all, but upon further investigation, my comparison still stands because Kanye’s sample uses a lower pitch than the original version. :)

A Bed(room) in Brooklyn Part 2.  This song is called “Synecdoche”, and it is the first song I wrote in New York City.

Greg Thomas.

Looking forward to seeing this guy at Bar 4 on Friday night at 10pm (which is now a place that we can bike to easily!!!)

A couple of weeks ago, I filmed an acoustic performance on a rooftop in Brooklyn of my song, “It’s Only Gone If You Look At It That Way”.  It was around 20 degrees, and my hands froze in about 30 seconds, but it was a lot of fun.  Here’s the video that the guys from Choonimals made for me for the “Rooftop Sessions” series.

Download the song here

I’ll be playing a full band show at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 in NYC on Sunday, 2/6.  We are going to debut a new song(!) and some new arrangements.  Facebook event invite here.

So dreamy, Greg.

Remember that time that Greg Thomas wrote a song for me and CR? This is it.
Recorded at Rockwood Music Hall last night.

Thanks, Greg.

Tomorrow I am playing at Rockwood Music Hall at 7pm - since this is probably going to be my last NYC show until the new year, I’ve decided that if 50 people RSVP on the facebook invite for the show, that I’ll wear the infamous hotdog suit during the show.
You may ask, “Why would you put yourself in the position to play in a hotdog suit?”
Because playing a show for 50 people in a hot dog suit is better than playing a show to 10 people in a sweet flannel shirt.
I challenge you all to come and enjoy this night with me.

Emphasis mine. Come out tonight!

If you like this track, you can download it for free here

Thanks for listening!

This guy is great.

gregoryjmrmr:

I wrote a song, “The Rafters in my Head” as a gift to Adrienne and Christian for their wedding.  It was probably one of my favorite writing experiences, and I am glad it took me 6 or 7 scrapped songs to get to this one.
I’ll post it first thing in the morning, but for now I’ll leave you with the artwork.

so.great.
thanks, greg. ♥.

Check it out, Greg!!!

(they played the entire record, too…twice)

gregoryjmrmr:

I finally finished the song for Adrienne and Christian’s wedding, made a quick demo, checked the lyrics again and gave it a thumbs up.
Then I took this terrible photo to show you what my workspace looks like. This is what happens when you work full time, record an album, promote it, eat frozen burritos and work on multiple songs simultaneously in between travelling home for weddings.
I hope it’s never clean again. What a great few months it’s been.

Thing #487,921 that I’m excited about for this weekend.
