People buy and listen to their music where they buy and listen to their music. I, as a content provider, can’t influence that. There are many people in this business that say, ‘I wish people still bought vinyl. I wish people still bought CDs.’ But you can’t base your business on that.

Ha! I never thought about the fact that each “like” you leave on someone else’s Tumblr becomes a free backlink. Moderately trashy SEO strategy.
This is even more incentive to block the insane number of Spammers liking posts on Tumblr lately, though does blocking it actually do the trick in that case? It looks like the likes still go towards the like count, even though the links no longer appear on the page.
