I looked through our wedding photos again today, and this one of me and my mom makes me laugh.

‘Til 2013 do us part? Mexico City mulls 2-year marriage (Reuters)
This is a pretty amazing idea. My initial thoughts are the same thoughts that I have about removable tattoos—much of the appeal of marriage and tattoos is that they are a very serious committment; if you aren’t ready to commit for life, don’t do either of them at all.
BUT, there is quite a demand for divorce, and all kinds of ideas about marriage are evolving these days, so maybe it is worth considering? It builds in a prenup, which is definitely a good thing.
UPDATE: Tristan has requested that I link back to his idea from a year ago which is very similar, and mention that he sent this article to me today.
Today was our 1 year wedding anniversary!!
We celebrated with two delicious homemade pizzas, three wonderful friends, and two slices of thawed wedding cake. I have to admit that I don’t quite understand the year-later cake tradition, though…it’s not as delicious as it was when it was fresh; is this supposed to represent the marriage?
Barbie and Ken’s Dream Wedding Album (Jezebel)
This is hilarious/awesome, and for a second, I thought it was another layer of Mattel’s Barbie & Ken online marketing strategy. I bet they wish they had thought of it.
And yes, they look exactly like our engagement photos.

- Me: If [redacted] and [redacted] get married, I wonder what kind of wedding they'll have.
- CR: Whatever kind she wants. Like all weddings!
With our first wedding anniversary coming up in a few weeks, I was just perusing the Wikipedia article about traditional wedding anniversary gifts.
Then I remembered that I don’t like traditional wedding anything, particularly traditions that require spending money on more stuff.
We will not be buying gifts.
It is a little dark that the modern 90th anniversary gift is engraved marble. A tombstone, perhaps?
Every Bride Expects a Lovely Food Truck (WSJ)
I love this.
My cousin’s boyfriend threw out our save-the-date because he thought it was an ad for Anthropologie.
Co-worker with a wedding coming up
What a compliment to their design!
Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. (via)
Things like this remind me that ladies have come a long way in this world.
